After listening to Madeon, its hard to believe that this artist is only 15 years old! Truly a future venturer in music and has a bright future. Catch this one before it blows up! Honestly, the beat is uptempo but has a chill feel inside the music. Also, I'm a fan of the Killers so even better!

Macklemore is on the rise! This underground rap from Seattle is seriously doing some work. The lyrics are so deep and it just has this all around good feeling. The video is good, but close your eyes and enjoy this one

Chicago Concerts 11/17-21

Hey all we got some good concerts coming down to the Chi this weekend so lets get to it!  On Wednesday we got Powerman 5000 at the Cubby Bear, and I know that this is not yet the weekend but Powerman5000 is too good to miss.  Circa Survive is playing at the House of Blues on Friday, Rick Ross is hustin' down at The Chicago Theatre, and Paul Oakenfold is performing at the House of Blues later on in the night.  On Saturday Tiesto is mixing at the UIC Pavillion.  Also Sam Adams and LA Riot is at the House of Blues next Monday, so pretty much the House of Blues is the place to be this week.  Enjoy.

Taken Off- Cam Meekins

Here's a really good one. Cam Meekins is a out of Newton, MA and is a real young artist, but this song is real chill. The lyrics, the beat, its all nice. Save this one for rolling out of bed with its upbeat tempo cause it'll perk up your mood for sure.

So I love the original for this song by Geto Boys, especially from the scene in Office Space, but this remix by Wiz Khalifa is pretty good. Wiz has been throwing out good music for a while now and deserves the spotlight after Kush & OJ. This song is pretty chill so kick back and listen

Chicago Concerts 11/5- 7

It's time for the weekly concert update.  I thought I would help all the concert goers out by connecting a link to the ticket office so it makes it easier for everyone to enjoy the music this weekend.  On Friday, Lifehouse is playing at The Chicago Theatre, and Maze is at the Jones Convocation Center at Chicago State.  On Saturday, Black Label Society and Childre is at Congress, Filter is playing at the Cubby Bear.  On Sunday, we got Danzig rocking at Congress and Eddie Money at the House of Blues.

Atmosphere - The Woman with the Tattooed Hands

Atmosphere is writes lyrics like a poet. You have to listen to this song a few times to appreciate its depth, but once you do it opens up the story like no other artist can. Slug is phenomenal and I'm still waiting to see him live because I've heard these concerts are an experience like no other. Really listen to this one.

Mark Joggerst & Ralf Kemper Lexus - The Pursuit of Perfection No. 1

As classical music goes, this is about as good as it gets. Mark Joggerst's composition is so elegant that its impossible to not close your eyes throughout. The melody captures your ears through its simplicity, but at the same time appears to have a deeper level than expected. Enjoy

Pretty Lights - Finally Moving

Pretty Lights is sick. I just love this sound. Gotta wish this song could last all day with the way it relaxes with all the instrumentals. Kick it back!

Just hit this song on my shuffle and couldn't get it out of my head. Dave brings so much emotion to music that it's ridiculous, but it isn't just him, its the way the whole band gives everything from the piano to shakers. Simply elegant

For all you Dubstepers out there, this song has song great woomp wooommmpp!! Unlike some dubstep that ignores the necessity for good lyrics, this Zeds Dead single covers it all. Definitely brings it. Let me hear ya!

Phoenix - 1901 (US Version)

Such a great song. Phoenix has a niche for catching listeners off guard with their surprising vocals. They present themselves as almost a KOL type band, but are a much easier listen and have a uprising energy to their songs.

Chicago Concerts 10/21-23

With it being hump day, lets look forward to the music thats gonna be around Chicago this weekend.  First, Passion Pit kicks things off up north on Thursday at NIU Convocation Center, or if you're staying in the city check out Mushroomhead at The Dead Celebrity Hall.  Friday's a down day for concerts in the city this week, so just go out and have fun.  Some great concerts are taking place on Saturday with The Script at Riviera Theatre, Vanilla Ice performs at Q Billiards & Sports Bar, and finally Deadmau5 at Congress!!! Deadmau5 is also performing on Friday at Congress, but I'd recommend going on Saturday because it's gonna go all night and well into the morning! So do yourself a favor and recover on Sunday.

Pendulum - The Island (F.O.O.L Alternative Remix)

If you don't listen to Pendulum, you're missing out. All the vocals are always tight and the way the lyrics are expressed make it pure ecstasy. This f.o.o.l remix is just another brilliant song behind this ridiculous voice. Throw your hands up and comment!!!

Kid Cudi - The Prayer

With Band of Horses getting much deserved respect for their single - The Funeral, making its appearance on the '08 Ford Edge commercial we all secretly love, its not hard to see why kid Cudi made a remix to it. Whether you're waking up or up late, this song is the ticket. The lyrics are great behind this amazing music.

Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man

I know that this song has received decent exposure, but I just stumbled upon it. I have come to one conclusion- Mumford and Sons are phenomenal!!! They have a folklike essence to them, but yet still an edgy sound for today's ears. Lets hear what ya think

Local Natives - Wide Eyes (Teen Daze Remix)

I had never heard of Teen Daze before this remix, and I assume neither have a lot of you, but this song is great. The Local Natives song has been turned into the perfect sunrise/late night sobering jam.  Sooooooo relaxing. Listen and enjoy

Chicago Concerts this Weekend.

Some good music making its way to Chicago this weekend with Kid Cudi and Snoop Dogg making their way up to the northside at Welsh Ryan, Rusko at the Metro, Sufjan Stevens at the Chicago Theatre, Mike Reim at the House of Blues, Drake at US Cellular, and Gorillaz with NERD at the UIC Pavillion. Swedish House Mafia is probably one of my most played artists right now. This video makes you wanna jump up and fly to Miami right now. Although the lyrics are simple, they pack a punch. Just leave everything behind and focus on the now. You can't change the past but the present will impact the future.

Harvey Danger- Flagpole sitta

This may be one of the most underrated song of all-time. Harvey Danger has stopped touring, but this song will live forever. The drums are insane and the whole mystique of the song is created through the vocals. Definitely a 1 hit wonder, but definitely a must have on any road trip.

Ben Folds - Landed

Being a piano player myself, I feel like everyone needs to listen to this song. The chords and melody on the the ivories are perfect. There's not much to explain here. This song has the beauty. Put it on your iPod and listen after a long day.

Rad Anthem - Official Music Video from Rad Omen

With Nick Swardson's sketch comedy show starting tonight, I figured this had to be posted. For those of you who don't know, Nick may be the funniest dude alive. In the Rad Anthem video, he plays Wendy and I'm pretty sure he impersonated her perfectly. This video depicts a crazy night with some of our favorite fast food characters. Amazing!!

I Am I Said - Neil Diamond

This wouldn't be a true music blog with some NEIL!!! I saw "Jess Rabinovitch" live a few summers ago and for an old guy, he brings it! Its true with all his music, but "I Am I Said" encompasses all his passion with the vocals. Now if your not a Diamond fan, I suggest you get out and start listening cause he is the greatest story/song writer of all time.

Coachella 2010

Ok this song is pretty solid but this is seriously one of the coolest videos. Its a birds-eye view of the Coachella Music Festival in Cali. I have to give it up to whoever thought this out beforehand because this is inspiring!
